I can’t help but wonder, why can’t evolution and creation both be true? If I keep following the fact of evolution back in time, I would have to wonder where the ancestral bird of the elephant came from. And once I know where birds came from, who did the “pre-bird” come from? Eventually I’ll probably get back to the one celled creature in the primordial ooze. But by then I will have left scientific facts way behind and I’ll be deep in theory. But isn’t it conceivable that the original life forms on earth were actually created? Well, it’s conceivable to me anyway.

It is conceivable but not very likely. Plus the question is intellectually dishonest. If that question was an accepted question in the sciences, the scientific method would collapse and lead us away from whatever truths are out there. It would be much better to assume no creator exists and be pleasantly surprised to find one does, than to assume one does and never answer the questions that have undiscovered answers.
