The Old Testament is pretty clear about god’s law. It’s perfect. But then this Jesus fellow comes along in the New Testament and says “wait one minute!” and offers a 2nd covenant after confessing that the first covenant was faulty. What does this say about the state of the 2nd covenant? Could it too have faults?
Given any method available that works, there is nearly 100% probability that the second covenant is also faulty. The only way to get a prediction in the opposite direction is to be deluded….
The New Covenant cannot be faulty because it was made my God, Himself, on behalf of man.
Clearly logic and reasoning are not your strong suit. Keep your day job.
Actually it’s the other way around, men wrote the bible and claimed it was on behalf of god.
So what happened with the Old Covenant that was also made by God? I get that the Christian New Testament says that the Mosaic Covenant is no longer valid because Jews didn’t uphold their part of the bargain, but Jews frankly find this view insulting to the omniscience of God because that would need to mean that God couldn’t have foreseen the sinful nature of Jews if the Christian theology is correct.
#13 is not a contradiction.
It shows the difference between the covenants that God made with man (Adam, Moses, King David, etc.) and the New Covenant established by Jesus, the New Adam, and Son of God.
By definition it is a contradiction. Jesus explicitly and purposely contradicts what was said in the OT. If the 1st covenant had been perfect, as Psalm states, then, as Jesus states, there would be no need for a 2nd covenant.
Jesus explicitly and purposefully did NOT contradict what was said in the Old Testament.
That isn’t me, it’s Jesus. He said that.
Here is my response to this supposed contradiction. Enjoy 🙂
In what way is this a contradiction? You do realize that ‘law’ and ‘covenant’ are 2 different things?
There are TWO laws in the scriptures: Yahweh’s ten commandments AND Moses law.
Moses law passed away. OLD covenant.
Heb. 8:6-7 is talking about Moses law. Words in a book. Ink on paper.
Psalm 19:7 is Yahweh’s ten commandments. Ex. 20
Yahweh’s TEN commandments will stand until the last sinner is cast into the lake of fire.
Bess you.
According to Exodus 34:27-28, the words of the covenant passed to Moses are the Ten Commandments.
Exodus 34:27-28: And the Lord said to Moses, “Write these words, for in accordance with these words I have made a covenant with you and with Israel.” So he was there with the Lord forty days and forty nights. He neither ate bread nor drank water. And he wrote on the tablets the words of the covenant, the Ten Commandments.
Also, which TEN commandments are we talking about? The bible contradicts itself on what they are: Exodus 20:1-17 vs. Exodus 34:14-26.
As it is written…”For if the First Covenant had been Faultless”. I think that says it all and it is also proven that narrow minded Christianoids Love twisting scripture around to fit in their molded brains because they cannot read and comprehend that God cannot make up his mind on his word and might be the biggest Narcissistic Bull shitter in the Universe….
